Can't find what you ar looking for? Please consider the following;

Page Title and Keywords
The search-function will look for the keywords you entered in the titles of the pages in our database and in the extra keywords we entered for each link. Since there are over 23000 links we haven't entered keywords for all links (yet).

Which keywords did you use?
To find what you are looking for you probably used keyword(s). But are they the right ones?
Looking for "indigeneous south american indians" will get you no results. There may be maps about the Inca and the Maya, but the word "indigeneous" may be nowhere in the title of the page. It may well be that the title of the page is in Spanish since these tribes lived in places that now speak Spanish.
Also if you are looking for a specific town or part of a country using the name fo this town may get you no results. This will probably mean there is no map available that is specifically about this town. The town itself may be on several maps of the country it is in, but since we have no time to describe the content of each map in detail the cityname may be nowhere in the searchable keywords.

Country or Region Search
Searching for maps about a country is reasonably straightforward. But what if you want information about climate in Africa. You can type in climate and choose Africa in the country-menu (Africa isn't exactly a country, but there may be one map with info about the whole of Africa, so in this case we treat it as one).
The result may come up empty. But there may be maps about climate in Zimbabwe, Malawi South-Africa etc. To make sure you don't have to try all the seperate countries we made the Region Search. This will give you results for all the separate countries in Africa.

Language and "exotic" characters
Please remember that across the world there are people using nog only different languages, but also different letters in their alphabet. The town you are looking for may have an ä, an ï or an ø in it (if you see squares in stead of letters your browser/computer may not be configured correctly to display these letters but they are supposed to be an a with two dots above it, an i with two dots and and o with a diagonal line through it). France, Sweden and the Czech republic have a lot of these chararacters in their town-names.
And what about Greece, the Arabic countries and The Far East and the characters they use?? Well.... if you know a solution to that, please let us know, it will make our lives a lot easier.... But at present we can't help you there...
